Playing the Texas icon is both an
honor and a privilege for Ken who has long studied and deeply admired the
legendary historical figure. Ken was last seen as Claudius in HAMLET at The Mary Moody Northen
Theatre, and in A STEADY RAIN at for
a chick & a dude theatre as Denny. In MEN
OF TORTUGA for Street Corner Arts, he was honored with the B. Iden Payne
Award for his performance as Taggart.
Ken played the title role in KILLER
JOE for Capitol T Theatre in 2009, and Ariel for Hyde Park Theatre in THE PILLOWMAN, which earned him an Austin
Critics Table Award. He originated Abner
in his one man show WICKER CHAIRS and
also penned WIND CHIMES AND VARICOSE
CREAM which was published in the Texas Theatre Journal. His one-woman show SEAMSTRESS, which was directed by Ellie McBride and starred Melanie
Dean was honored as Best of Fest at FronteraFest 2010. Ken has appeared on
television with either featured, co-starring or reoccurring roles in LONGMIRE (A&E), REVOLUTION (NBC), FRIDAY
NIGHT LIGHTS (NBC), DALLAS (TNT),
KILLER WOMEN (ABC), CHASE (NBC), PRISON BREAK (FOX) and WALKER
TEXAS RANGER. He has also been
featured and co-starred in OYMPUS HAS
FALLEN with Morgan Freeman, DRIVE
ANGRY 3D with Nicolas Cage, ROOM––which
ran at the Sundance and Cannes film Festivals, and will be the upcoming feature
THE DOO-DAH MAN. Ken came to Austin
in 1992, lives in Leander with his wife Cathy, and is a graduate of the Fine
Arts program at (where else!) Sam Houston State University.
